January 6th, Learned

Today brought me another wonderful opportunity of exploring the history of New Orleans. My day started out with my friend Peyton as we both walked up town. As we were walking we had discussed the possibility of having a fun and exciting lunch on the balcony of a restaurant here in New Orleans. As we are walking, we remained focused on finding the right location for lunch. But there was a slight delay due to the drop in Peyton's blood sugar. So, we had to find some quick access of some needed sugar. Which ended up being a fountain soda loaded with sugar that we bought from a bar on Decatur Street. After dealing with this situation, we then continued our way in search of the perfect location for lunch. And there it was The American Sports Saloon known as the largest balcony in the lower French Quarter.
My lunch was the perfect choice being a grilled cheese on texas toast, waffle fries, and an ice-cold pink lemonade.

After lunch our shopping spree began as we walked along the streets admiring all the historian buildings that housed all the shops. I really enjoyed walking through the French Market. The French Market was located outside that consisted of places to eat, and booths of individual vendors. Each vendor sold a variety of different items, allowing for each shopper to find an item they desired. As day continued so did the heat index. At one point the temperature reached 71 degrees. Back at home a few days ago snow hit the ground. So being in 71 degrees weather was the place to be today.
