January 3rd, Learned

On January 3, 2020 I was given the opportunity to attend the first outing here in New Orleans. To prepare for this outing I had to decide what clothes and shoes I was going to wear. Our first evening out we walked, and walked, and walked to get to our first destination Jackson Square a historical landmark. This park was surrounded by a beautiful black iron gate. Upon arrival was this monument of Andrew Jackson on his horse.

This is an image that I took myself of Andrew Jackson on a bronze horse. As you can observe he is tipping his hat towards the home of his mistress even though he had a wife. I will be looking forward of returning to Franklin Park the next day to view all the local artists that will have their work of art on displace outlining the perimeter of Jackson Square, the heart of New Orleans.
While I was standing in Franklin Park, I was able to view the St. Louis Cathedral Church. This church is the oldest Cathedral in North America, founded as a Catholic Parish in 1720. This beautiful historical landmark overlooks Jackson Square. The area where Andrew Jackson is located is enclosed by a beautiful black iron fence. On the outside of the fence is the location of Cabildo, Cathedral Church, and the Presbytere.

From there we observed the backside of the St. Louis Cathedral Church and found an image of Jesus.
This is a well-known historical landmark called Touchdown Jesus. A sculpture Garden in French Quarter.
