January 2nd, Experiences

During my travel to Champaign, my head had a dull pain located in the right temple. This feeling is due to my thoughts that were being processed, or some anxiety. As I was driving, I could feel the tension from my foot on the accelerator to the top of my head. My eyes were constantly monitoring my surroundings. I was observing many colors for example, other vehicles, landscaping, and traffic signs.
There were times that I was experiencing a warm sensation from my coffee cup. As I took each sip, the warm mocha flavor brought comfort to the taste buds on my tongue. During my journey I listed to various sounds through the sound of music. As my car moved, I could hear my tires running on a payment as I drove my car on the interstate.
I found this trip to be very easy to navigate. The route that I traveled brought back many memories.
Traveling to Champaign by route 74 I could navigate from the back of my hand. Traveling this route was done through memory of many days that I traveled back and forth from Southern Illinois.

Once arriving at the train station, my inner soul had a feeling of relief. This feeling was a signal telling me that I am in the right place to meet my class, and everything is okay. I walked across the street with two other classmates to have dinner at Saints Seven. As I walked into the door, there was a long think curtain that I had to walk through. This curtain represented an opening of a door. When I walked through this curtain, it was like delivering a presentation. The curtain resembled another patron’s arrival.
After my relaxing dinner it was time to meet our class at the train station and board the train. Then the rushing sensation began to occur in my brain. I was trying to process all the thoughts of where I park, where do I check my luggage in at, and where I am going to wait for the arrival of my class. It was time to board the train, the unexpected closeness of humans trying to board the train. Our assigned seats were located on the upper level. We had to walk up a flight of stairs that were enclosed in a narrow staircase. Once I was up on the upper level, I had to decide which seats or location would be the best to sit for the next seventeen hours. The train began to move in a slow motion as we take off. Peyton and I were trying to get the area around our seats all organized.
As the speed of the train increases so does the reality of my thoughts are coming real. This is really happening and we off to another destination called New Orleans. Our time of departure took place in the late evening around 10:30 P.M. which means it is bedtime. Peyton and I decided to watch a movie which helped settle us in for the night. We used a double setup of earbuds and were able to block the sound out from our classmates. I shared a movie with Peyton that she has never seen before called "Because I said so" with Diane Keaton, Mandy Moore, Lauren Graham, and Piper Perabo. My seat did recline but it was still very uncomfortable due to not being able to stretch my legs out. It was an ordeal of trying to find that best position of being comfortable to fall asleep. I did not fall into a deep sleep due to all the activity that occurred all night long. I heard voices, sounds of people making their way back in forth through the main aisle. I heard the horn of the train coming and going all night long. When it was time to use the restroom once again, I had to transition down through a very narrow stairwell. My figure was in my favor of successfully transitioning through the staircase. But, "Oh My Goodness" the bathroom resembled a spaghetti noodle sliding through the opening of a strainer. This bathroom was very small like a broom closet.
As this journey continued through the night so did the time. I found myself looking to see what time it was due to the continuous interruption of my sleep.
The next morning, I found my eyes wondering among my classmates. I was envious of how some of the students looked very comfortable sleeping, and I'm sitting here awake.... really?
As my journey continued the next day, we fed our souls with snacks that were packed in our bags. These snacks consisted of blue berry muffins and goldfish for my breakfast.

As the train continued to roll down the tracks so did my attention to time on my cell phone. I was experiencing a feeling of excitement as our destination grew closer for our arrival. Once we arrived at the train station in New Orleans, I found myself entering a surrounding of chaos. This chaos consisted of gathering my belongings and picking up my suitcases for departure to our motel.
